...but out of the window, Willard sees a worrying sight, our 767, due to depart to Auckland within 15 minutes looks, erm, a little poorly! It appears to have more than it's fair share of engineers examining it's starboard engine.....

On return to the Air New Zealand lounge, we are advised that the plane has a problem with one of it's engines, and that engineers are looking into it. On further examination Willard thinks peering into it may be a more accurate description!

Only 3.5 hours after it's scheduled departure, (and, as we later found, after the starboard thrust-reverser had been convinced to un-deploy, and behave!), Willard boards his flight to Auckland, and decides that any delay is justified if it increases the probability that the aircraft will stop before it drops into the ditch at the end of the runway.

Willard has his pre-flight glass of sparkling wine as he studies the menu for this, relatively short, flight to Auckland.
