The Royal Orchid has lived up to it's generous (to SPG Platinum members) reputation, and has upgraded us to an Executive suite that is slightly larger than an A380!

The bedroom has a wonderful view of the Chao Praya River - the hotel is on the river bank.

And so this must be Willard's room? Well, nearly - A nice sitting room with another view of the river.

No sooner has Willard taken his jacket off, and there is a knock on the door and a fruit platter is delivered. This being Thailand, with a seemingly endless supply of new and uncharted fruits, the platter comes with an extensive instruction manual, which Willard studies intently.

The view from our room is but naught when compared to the view from the Towers Lounge on the top floor of the hotel! Willard makes his way up there for the "Cocktail Hour" and partakes of a Singapore Sling (or two...)
